Key outcomes
- Why strategic advantage is often created before the visible decision, negotiation, escalation or execution moment.
- How to read the wider terrain across customers, competitors, technology, governance, culture, incentives, risk, timing and external change.
- How threat, certainty-seeking and cognitive bias can narrow strategic attention and create premature action.
- How to separate facts, interpretations, predictions and preferences and test consequential assumptions before committing.
- The STRIDE™ Strategic Advantage Framework: Scan the Terrain, Test Assumptions, Reposition First, Influence Alignment, Decide Timing, Execute and Adapt.
- How to generate repositioning options by changing scope, sequence, coalition, framing, venue, pace and decision rights.

Systems scan, challenge reframing and the neuroscience of threat. Map customers, stakeholders, incentives, governance, culture, technology, timing, constraints and weak signals using the Terrain-to-Action Map™.
10:10–10:25 | Morning Break
Refreshment break, informal reflection and reset.
10:25–11:20 | Module 2 — Test Assumptions
Facts versus interpretations, predictions and preferences; cognitive bias, Evidence Ladder™, pre-mortem and scenario challenge. Build an Assumption Register for a live strategic issue.
11:20–12:15 | Module 3 — Reposition Before Reacting
Generate strategic options by changing scope, sequence, coalition, framing, venue, decision rights and pace. Use the Strategic Choice Canvas™ to compare leverage, legitimacy, reversibility and learning value.
12:15–13:00 | Lunch
Lunch break with an optional strategic challenge clinic and informal integration.
13:00–14:00 | Module 4 — Build Alliances and Influence

14:00–14:50 | Module 5 — Decide the Timing
Fast, slow and staged decisions; reversible versus irreversible moves; cost of delay versus cost of error; minimum evidence and explicit thresholds. Use AI as a bounded red-team thought partner without outsourcing judgement.
